Common Lime Butterfly

Butterflies are difficult subjects to shoot. You need lots of patience. Here I used a Fujifilm X-E1 mirrorless camera, light weight and easy to move around. I followed this butterfly and observed where are its regular stopping points and waited, and waited. Then it happened, it stopped right in front of me and I fired quietly away.

This butterfly reproduces itself through the Lime Tree, hence, its name. The caterpillar is dark green and it emits a stinking pungent smell if it gets agitated by elongating its two feelers.

The location is at Pasir Ris Garden at Carpark C and the best time to shoot them is between 10 am to 12 noon.
